A very dull day in the low 40s with very strong wind.
I decided to put the hay out in nets so it would not blow away, and the boys hardly touched them.
Rebel went straight out to the pasture and did the usual.
They are still getting some grass.
Little Wonder did not need his black coat.....
and kept me company in the barn so he did not have to deal with the wind.
After chores I had a burst of energy and did a couple loads of laundry....put fresh sheets on the bed.
Gary went to yoga and lunch, then he had a Summer Serenades meeting.
I dug out some ornaments that our granddaughters made many years ago and put them out on the kitchen porch railing. Ariana will be here on Saturday and Stephanie will be coming next week. Let's see if they recognize them.
Gary's coffee pot bit the dust so I went shopping this afternoon. Got him a nice one, an electric mixer and two tarps. I got out of the store a little before 3:30 and it was almost dark! What the heck was that all about? By 4:30 you could hardly see the boys in the front paddock.
Got them tucked in and sat by the fire for awhile.
Gary got home from yet another appointment around 6 and made us scrambled eggs and toast for dinner. We just were not very hungry.
Night all.
I'm sure Gary will be happy with the new goodies, even if not all for him. Dark so early, I kept looking at the Canadian B C websites while Josh was further north of Vancouver for 20 days. And found that the sunset was earlier and even more so as he travelled East or West. No wonder the very far North is called " Land of the Midnight Sun" .Here we are in summer season, but a cold wind yesterday saw me back in winter gear!!! So unseasonal.60 years ago when our younger daughter was born in December, I remember dressing in sleeveless summer frocks for months.
ReplyDeleteRebel knows a guy needs his routines! We were cloudy yesterday so it gets dark really early, earlier than usual. I think I had lights on by 3:30. My coffee machine is a tea kettle and a funnel with a liner. Low tech!
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty ornaments and don't they look festive on the porch railing?!
ReplyDeleteHere in central Va, it's pretty dark by 5p, and earlier on an overcast day. We've had two days in a row of highs in the 60s*F but that's coming to an end with much colder days and nights by the weekend. Little chance of a white Christmas here but I would love that!
Hugs!
Don't know why my comment was posted without my name because I certainly typed it in?!
