The Works

At least 80 degrees today.

Rebel was slightly stiffer than last night, but not too bad.  This time I put the ice on him right away...

and turned him out with it on.  He lasted for almost 40 minutes while I cleaned stalls.
Of course he was as far away as possible when I went out to take it off.

Alice arrived a little after 10 for Spa Day and while we were in the grooming room I took off Rebel's old boot and soaked him in this red one that Andrea loaned me.  So Slick!  I mixed up half a gallon of warm water with epsom salts and dumped it in.  He only moved once and some of the water came out of the top.
Meanwhile, Buddy was occupying himself in the stall next to us....worked himself into a sweat again.

Rebel had just rolled so he needed some serious brushing.

After I removed the red boot, dried him off and put him in a stall to let some air get at it.

Then it was Buddy's turn.
He must have thought there was a boogie man outside and it took him a long time to settle down.
Made a new boot for Rebel and
off they went.

Gary missed yoga as he was waiting for another wood delivery so he can finish the back wall of the studio.  While he went out to lunch, Little Wonder and I cooled it.

At 5, a garlic grower down the road came up with his tractor and rototilled the area where Gary will be planting this years garlic.  It's half of what he usually does.  Fine with me
Chores take a lot longer when I ice Rebel.
This is how he was walking tonight.  Still gimpy, but not as bad.  Hopefully it felt better after he was iced.

Once again I just sat in the aisle on a chair and listened to more of Rachel Maddow's podcast while he was wrapped up.

It was dark when I got back in the house.
Dinner....leftover vegetarian chili and some Johnny cake.
Night all.

  1. What you are doing appears to be working for rebel. Alice has beautiful hair!
