Bon Voyage!

A little overcast with rising humidity.  We ended up with 5 raindrops early evening....not enough.

Leslie was up and at um, ready to help in the barn this morning.

She has spoiled me....picking stalls, dumping the wheelbarrow and emptying water buckets.
Here is a photo of her on a 5 year old horse she is currently riding in Georgia.  Not bad for someone in her 70s!!!

She even took the time to help me clean the water trough.

Gary met his pals for coffee and by the time we got back in the house he was home and David was in the kitchen.

By mid morning it was time for them to head out to another of David's cousins that lives south of Buffalo.

I am glad we reconnected after all this time!  So many memories, not to mention all the things we have in common.  Hopefully they will come back soon!  Both game for anything and were able to get a real feel for our farm and the community.  Naps even happened!  Pretty interesting, how you can be so comfortable and compatible.
(A little Stewart collection in the garden by the kitchen)
Jen came up around 4 to get some old hay to put on the grass she planted, and we picked her some greens for tonight's salad.
We had leftovers and a carrot/apple/craisin/grape salad.  A weird combo, but that's what was in the frig.
Buddy watches out for me at chore time.

Night all.

  1. It seems you hit it off with your long lost cousin and his wife. You now have a couple of new friends in your life!

  2. That is so great! A few of my cousins and I got together after a 40 yr absence and I am looking forward one day of seeing them again.
We picked up right where we had left off when we were all teens and never missed a beat. I miss hanging with those 'kids'.

I'm glad you had such a good time and hopefully they will return!
