Coop Graduated!

Got up very early this morning as chores had to be done... needed to take a shower and we left for the SERC (at the College) at 8:30 for the graduation ceremony.

Finn was at a training session for Camp Abilities in the same building.  He volunteered to spend the week with children who are visually impaired as they work with the camp director, Lauren L., who is a friend and has now established these camps around the world.  It will be quite an experience.  He was able to get away for a short time to see his brother graduate.

The keynote speaker was a teacher from the Science Department....Dan V.  He was just starting to teach before I retired in 1999.  Now, on the side, he is a stand up comedian and is booked all over the place.  I wish I could have posted his entire speech as it was the best one.

It's very difficult to get a decent photo from those huge screens.  Jenny will set me up with some better shots taken after the ceremony.

Here are some photos from Jenny.

We came home, picked some lettuce and I made a salad to take down to Jenny's for a graduation picnic.

Her house looks so good with the hanging baskets!
She had given one of the cats a bath for this special occasion.
Coop's girlfriend, Heather, stopped over with her Mom to celebrate with a piece of cake.

Tonight they are going to the school for a Senior Party that ends at 5am, when they will picked up to go to Maine with her family.  A perfect time for a vacation.

Got home around 3.

Gary took a nap and I mowed the lawn with the John Deere that Scott got back in shape for us.  It's so much better than our old Troy Built.

We are supposed to have several days of rain and that should green up the grass.
Gary did the hand mowing and now we are ready to take it easy.
After I was done, headed for our cherry tree and was able to pick about a dozen cherries.  Boy were they good.  Just what the Doctor ordered.

Tucked the ponies in for the night and am ready to do nothing.
Night all.

  2. Such a proud moment to see life go on for these fine young people. SERC was where we saw our grandchildren have their graduation ceremonies. I give Jennie credit bathing her cat! And you have fresh cherries already. Kathy
