We had a gig today and I was awake a little after 5. Couldn't sleep any longer as I knew I had to be ready by 8:15. Did chores early.
Cleaned the stalls and had plenty of time for a shower and to gather all my stuff. Lori picked me up a 8:30 and by then it was raining. It took us half an hour to get to the library in Pavillion. The weather report was right. 100% chance of rain and it never stopped.
Fortunately we were in a protected space and it took us a long time to set up.
What a shame. There were 32 vendors and two food trucks there. Not too many people wanted to go outside in this weather as it was in the low 50s and the grounds were soaked.
By the end of our first break we had on sweaters and raincoats.
This is not a good recording....but can you hear the rain on the metal roof?
Of course it was pouring the hardest when we were leaving.
Home by 3 and ready for a nap. Fortunately I had leftover meatballs and made us open faced sandwiches for dinner.
Little Wonder and I tucked in the ponies, and that was that.
Night all.
A gig in the rain and the cold, and not many attendees because of the weather. I bet your gig was great despite that and hope the vendors sold enough things to make some money.
ReplyDeleteThat same rain poured here all night and huge flooding in our little town this morning. Evacuations, roads closed, one small settlement further away is totally cut off, but we are safe, and high and dry, apart from a VERY wet squelchy lawn. Lovely place for your gig if only it had stayed fine. And what a fitting tune.
ReplyDeleteYikes on the weather. We had decent weather yesterday. Hopefully, the cold and rain wasn't too tiring.
ReplyDeleteYou are troopers! I guess you got a practice session since there was no audience. The song was appropriate.
