A very ugmo day. Low 40s, grey and damp.
At the last minute I invited Brenda and Al over for dinner. We cleaned up the house and had almost everything prepared before I went out for evening chores.
Brenda wanted to visit the horses and got here just as I was finishing up.
She brought a carrot for them to share.
Seamus loves being able to see over the front of his stall.
Getting the mud off them everyday is a real challenge....especially if they have rolled before they get tucked in. By morning it has dried and it's much easier to brush off.
The menu for tonight was simple.
Greens with grapes, bananas, mandarin oranges, walnuts and crumbly blu...
grilled ham and fresh pineapple.
baked yams....
and Brenda made banana pudding with whipped cream.
We played a couple rounds of Mexican Train and called it a night around 9:30. Nice to have company for a change!
Night all.
Company for dinner, what a treat. Down here, the Covid cases in our area are reducing slightly, but we are still very careful, a cafe coffee is on my list , otherwise with a birthday in July, again, maybe a super espresso machine would fill the gap. De Longhi seems to have a huge selection, maybe I'll start making some hints.Muddy horses, they seem to so enjoy that, dry mud even on boots is easier too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have company! I hope the weather perks up for you today.
