My morning was quite typical.
Gary's was not.
He woke up with a very bad cold....
must have been from watching Cooper's game in light rain with low temperatures last night.
We could have frost by morning, so I picked some veggies and zinnias.
More and more leaves are falling.
Gary stayed in bed most of the day and I even took a nap.
At 4 I drove down to the Alumni House for First Friday.
Today it was hosted by Friends of the Drake Memorial Library.
Our friend, Rosie Rich, had an incredible garden built between the Alumni House
and Hartwell Hall and I took a tour.
The new Director of the Library was introduced.
Needless to say, it would not be right if I did not get a photo of Allan Macpherson
(Heidi was at another event at the U of R),
(Heidi was at another event at the U of R),
who is below with Annie Crane and Joan Fenton.
I checked out the bricks along the walkway, and there was one for Gary Skoog...
and a few other friends.
Another well attended event for the Town and Gown crew.
I went home for about an hour and then was off to another event at the Gust of Sun Winery.
The Oktoberfest sponsored, by the Clarkson Democrats, was attended by all kinds of politicos
and candidates. We are very fortunate to have such great support in the Western part of our county.
Cindy Underwood was the MC.
Theresa Alano is running for Clarkson Town Supervisor.
Adam Bello is running for County Executive. His wife joined him tonight and so
did Congressman Joe Morelle. Both of these elected officials are always there when we need them.
JW Cook is running for County Legislature in District 20
and Karen Lobracco is running for County Legislature in District 2.
Both districts include the parts of the Town of Sweden, where Mary and I are running.
Right about then, the battery in my camera died and I am relying on others for some
large group shots.
Below, Tom Trapp and Sheldon Myers (Clarkson Town Board candidates) with Congressman Joe Morelle in the middle, Adam Bello, Candidate for County Executive, Theresa Alano, Clarkson Town Supervisor Candidate and Karen LoBracco, County Leg candidate.
Gary and I have know Joe for decades, and it is a pleasure to have him supporting us.
Here are the Bellos and Sheriff Baxter and his wife.
John Akers was playing some great tunes.
I always have to take photos of JW and Jess...
they are like our adoptive grandkids.
Meredith V. (running for Supreme Court), Todd, JW, and Mike Dollinger
(who has not missed an event out here)
I left at 8pm.....
but not before picking up an incredible burger for Gary.
(That was part of the Oktoberfest....delicious.)
When I got home, he felt well enough to eat it.
Night all.
Tomorrow....more activity.
A Farm to Table Dinner at Kirby's.
Phew, I am staggered at what you manage to get done in a day. I would be hoping for home help, meals delivered, and housework and horses all cared for, Gary, get well, and enjoy the goodies.
