Started last night, high wind gusts all day and still blowin'.
Don't let that beautiful sunrise fake you out!
The wind made it mighty chilly.
I will say, that it did help dry out the paddock quite a bit.
Almost half of our snow is gone.
Got in from chores around 8 and made a simple breakfast....bagels, scrambled eggs, oj and coffee.
Sara and Tim had to leave for their friend Robin's, where they will be picking up a rescued sheep to take back home.
We said our last goodbyes and they were off and running. It is always such a pleasure to have them visit, even if it's for a short time.
See that car? They are going to take the sheep home in the back section...I hope Sara takes pictures. He's one year old.
Graham is now the centerpiece on our kitchen table.
Whipped up some homemade chicken soup for lunch. The kitchen still smells good.
Drumming at 1.
I lasted until 4:15 and then stopped off at the Rec Center to catch a few minutes of Finn's basketball game.
This is his first year playing and he did a great job.
The two Jennys were watching their boys play.
Got home, put on some sweats and went out to the barn. It felt so cold.
After the girls were tucked in we went down to Jen's for dinner.
Another good one.
I brought some homemade applesauce for the boys (Coop went to his Dad's for the night so Finn was soloing) and the leftover banana cream pie. She made a pork tenderloin, rice, corn and a delicious salad. We indulged.
Gary just started a fire, so my next stop will be the kitchen.
A dip in the temperature is on the way.
Night all.
Another busy day. The sky looks beautiful even if it was cold.
ReplyDeleteHope the sheep has a good ride home! So nice of them to take him in.
We used to let our mini goats ride in the car. You should have seen people's faces when they saw a goat sticking its head out the window in the back seat!
ReplyDeleteOur winds have died down, now we have so much ice to contend with from the rapid melt, the rain, the snow/sleet, and rapid re freeze.
Whew.
Your days are always so full of wonderful things like farming and family. We are headed for a dip in temps too. Not looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fulfilling day. The drumming must be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat chicken soup is calling my name. The Friendship Rhubarb has yet to poke its first leaves out of the soil, but the compost piled on top is buckling so I don't think it will be long.
