Buddy and the Dentist

The weather change started around 2 and got worse as the day went on.  I woke up at 4:20 and could not get back to sleep.  Was taking a shower by 6:15 and let the cats in and the dog out after that.  It was snowing and blowing....very dark.

Buddy's Mom arrived at 8:30 as the Horse Dentist was to arrive around 9.  He called while I was finishing the stalls and was going to be late because of all the snow on the roads.  Buddy and Rebel had hay under the shed roof but chose to dig for grass out in the pasture.
I called the boys around 9:15 and they were very sweet about coming into the grooming room.
Buddy was sedated by 9:45 and then we had to wait for 40 minutes before Jeff could get started.
I have had horses for 44 years and this is the first time we've had to do that.

I loved the stand that was used to hold his head up.  Sure made it much easier.
Jeff was all cleaned up and ready to leave before noon.
This was bridge day for me and I needed to leave by 12:45.  Of course Buddy was still foggy and could not be turned out.
Rebel is always so patient.  They seldom go inside during the day.

Carol was kind enough to come back and she babysat them until around 3 when they could be turned out.  These boys were in their stalls for 6 hours!  By the time they went out the weather was terrible.
Fortunately we were through with bridge by 3:30 .
I went home and checked on the boys, cleaned up the grooming room and brought in some bran to soak and include with their dinner.
Buddy was pretty much back to his normal self and I am very glad that his teeth were done, making his mouth more comfortable.

By the time I got everything set up, it was time to go back out and tuck them in.
They were ready.  All the snow blowing and shoveling that was done earlier needed to be done again.  Tomorrow.

Finished the last of the pasta and made a fresh salad.
I am pastad out.
Night all.
