Pickled Beets

Sunny and crisp today with some rain and cooler temperatures on the way.

No matter what I do, Buddy pees a river and it gets under the mats.  It took a lot of effort to strip down that part of the stall and when finished, I smelled just like it and had to wash my clothes.
Birds can get into the upper loft of the horse barn, so I went up there to see how much bird crap needed to be removed.  They drop it in one strip down the center of the middle roof beam and make a mess.  I'm not storing hay up there anymore so it gets neglected.
I opened the door and then drove the John Deere up there to pull down some vines and get all the bird crap into a pile so I can bag it.  The view from there is a good one.
All the pastures are in very good shape.

After finishing that, I picked the indoor and dragged it.  Our oldest lawn tractor is stored there and has not been used for at least two months... it started right up.

I had to do a little shopping and when I got home....made the pickled beets.  The garden is pretty empty now except for green peppers and onions.
The sky was gorgeous late afternoon.  I'm so mad at me for not getting any good photos of the Northern Lights.

Did not feel like making a serious dinner.  Hot dogs, corn chips, salsa and bean salad.
Around 6:30 the sky had that pink glow going on.

Got the boys tucked in and headed back to the house.

Not quite dark.
Night all.

  1. LW, sooooo cute! I didn't know about the northern lights and have no idea whether we could see it or not. Your pastures look good.
