Fortunately the temperature was in the low 60s this morning. Too bad it was almost 90 by noon.
We changed Spa Day from Tuesday to Monday. The horses certainly did not mind. As usual, they came into the grooming room on their own. Buddy was first. It was nice and cool and the fan was on....did not turn on the overhead lights so it was very peaceful.
He was very relaxed and even behaved himself when it was Rebel's turn
Alice was saying how much more comfortable she is around the horses now. They sure respond to her.
When our granddaughters were very young, they used to draw on this chalkboard in the grooming room. I never erased it. So sweet.
I made the fake tuna fish out of garbanzo beans for lunch. Added celery, chives, lemon juice, salt and pepper. So delicious and fresh tasting.
At 2, I drove Little Wonder down to the groomers....
and picked him up at 3:30. He now has very short hair and has to be more comfortable.
While Gary works on painting the porch, the hibiscus plants are directly under the sun on a table and they are blooming like crazy.
I don't know how he can stand working in this humidity. He pulled two rows of the garlic today.
Little Wonder and I took a break. The kitchen remained pretty cool all day.
Chores at 8:15. The boys were ready to get away from the bugs.
Gary got some of the garlic tied and has started hanging it on his barn porch.
That's it.
Night all.
Wow. Gary sure stays busy with his garlic. I have a friend who is much like him and I often wonder how they can deal with the heat and humidity ... it must be the garlic!
ReplyDeleteI got wimpy this year with hot and humid weather. If it is calm and you are not moving fast, the bugs will eat you alive this year. We normally don't have that kind of problem.
Maybe August will be drier!
Looks like a great day for spa day!
It's visible in photos that Alice is comfortable with the horses. The gnats and mosquitos are horrendous this year. The horses cannot wait to get in the barn.
ReplyDeleteGary is a force of nature. He does amaze!
