Let's Make A Deal

Sort of grey with a few sprinkles.

Three blossoms at once today.

Gary ran a few errands this morning and when he got home I went down to Lowes to look for a market umbrella.  While I was there I talked to a manager about my John Deere problems and had all my paperwork with me.  Seeing that it is under warranty, they are going to take it back and give me a new one on Wednesday.  If everything goes alright I will be utterly amazed and can't believe this could be done without having sent it out to the local John Deere store to have it repaired.
Gary is working on the pergola garden so I dragged a little table and our old grungy umbrella out there.
Isn't the color of these poppies strange?

Gary picked up a flat of the plants below to use as boarders.
At 1:30 I had a visitor.  Had dropped off some egg cartons to her yesterday and she brought me a dozen eggs today (she has chickens).  We sent her home with rhubarb and lettuce.  Anyway, her name is Rhonda and she is one of the two people who dethroned Mary and myself from the last Town Board election.  I never knew her until now and so happy that we were able to get together.  We became FB friends after I saw her at the Animal Hospital with one of her dogs and we spoke.  She does a lot of work with rescue dogs and we have many common interests.  Living proof that there are people from opposite political parties who can get along.  Anyway, she had the farm tour and met Rebel and Buddy.  I opened the grooming room door and they walked right in to the stalls (knowing they would get some cookies).  She is so good with animals.

Within the hour she won Little Wonder over.  He will not approach most people, but with all of her experience saving and placing dogs....he just knew she was ok.  So sweet.
Tonight I made a salad with fresh strawberries, bananas and poppy seed dressing.  Such a great combo.
Gary grilled some chicken and we had leftover rice and beans.  A weird combination, but it tasted great.
Little Wonder and I took our after dinner break and then
it was chore time.

Gary is getting a good grip on many of the gardens....we have way too many.

He plans to edge this one....move it over and plant some grass in the middle.  It just gets so overgrown in there.
Here's the new umbrella that brought me to Lowes.

Night all.

  1. Great day all around! Yes, they should make things right with a new mower/tractor right away!

It is good to make new friends also. I have friends that are not on the same page with me politically, but we keep that to ourselves and continue to be friends.

    Wow. Your gardens!

  2. Those gardens are fantastic. Mark started making headway on weeding but there has been so much rain and the mosquitos are horrid, so it's stopped for now. It's a mess. We had a whopper of a storm last night.

It's a rare thing find people of the opposite party to get along with.

  3. It says a lot for both of you that you can be friends, politics notwithstanding.
