I'll take each day that has decent air quality and is not too hot. We have 5 days coming up at 90 with a ton of humidity and our house is going to cave in to the temperature.
After chores were finished we went down to the Farm Market. There were a couple more vendors and many more customers. I bought two fried cakes (which we ate on the spot), tomatoes, cucumbers and a loaf of bread from Greg'rys.
This guy was playing at the market today. He did a great job. So neat that one person can push some pedals and add percussion....and other things!
Gary worked on the raised beds when we got home....onions. The kitchen garden is growing as tho it were covered by a greenhouse. The heat, humidity and rain have created perfect conditions.
Jenny and Scott came up for some onions, a cooler and fire wood. Their vacation starts today and they were taking Buster and their boat to a nearby lake.
I made a huge bean salad and later started on dinner....
my standby cauliflower casserole. Put it in the crockpot so it would not heat up the kitchen.
You can't imagine how many veggies we ate today. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions (potato salad for lunch...I also had pickled beets) and for dinner - cauliflower, carrots, celery, onions and hard boiled eggs (casserole) peppers, green beans, black beans, another kind of beans that I can't remember at the moment, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, corn, shallots and more carrots. We definately reached our quota.
Chores at 8.
It cooled off nicely.
Night all.
What a garden !! And your windmill, it looks like it's blowing a cloud away.
ReplyDeleteYour gardens blow me away! I do think you met your daily need of vegetables.
