Jana, Mike and Millie

As the day went on it rained and then got colder and colder.

After chores I did a little house cleaning and Gary went to physical therapy.  At noon, our friends, Mike and Jana arrived and they brought their dog, Millie.
We met them several years ago as they were traveling on the Erie Canal and stopped at the Welcome Center.  They were told to get in touch with us by two of their (Ohio) friends who we also met on the Canal.  We have all been friends for many years and stay in touch.
Jana takes fabulous photos and also has a blog that documents their travels on Kismet, their boat.
She and Mike are retired and very busy with their grandchildren, making art and building everything you can imagine.

Little Wonder and Millie must remember each other as they were very relaxed.

We went out to lunch and when we got back to the farm it was so damp and cold we started a fire.

Every time we get together, Mike always takes a selfie of us before they leave.  We love spending time with them and wish the Bacons were here too.  They keep their boat about an hour from here and plan to spend the next two or three weeks cruising to the East and the Hudson River.  We will see them again in July, when their daughter and son-in-law will be staying with us at the farm and spending some time on the Canal with them.
Took it easy this afternoon and went out for evening chores at 8.

Night all.

  2. Dear Lori, I so enjoyed this posting because it really s showed just how welcoming and friendly you are to anyone who happens to come to "your neck of the woods." And by the way, the photo at the very top of your blog so impressed me. All those gardens! How is the band going. Any spring and/or summer gigs planned? Peace from Dee and the cats.
