Thousands of Black Walnuts....

Decent weather again.

More blossoms this morning.

After chores I took a quick shower and went down to the farm market with Gary.
Some friends were playing there and several of us (groupies) showed up to listen and give them support. The name of their band is "The Road Not Taken" and boy were they fun!

Home by noon.  Picked some veggies out of the garden and had lunch.

It was a perfect day for mowing the lawn.

The grass is starting to grow around the wind mill.  In this photo you can see how much better it looks without all the brush that was around it.  The remaining vines are all brown and drying out.
Poor Gary worked for hours and hours yesterday and most of today picking up thousands of those darn black walnuts.  It's a nasty job and he was not too happy by the end of the day.  He must have moved 15!!!!!!wheelbarrows full.

We saw our friend Adam R. at the market and invited him to dinner.  I sautéed onions, red and green peppers and chopped tomatoes.....
had parboiled, sliced and fried up some Italian sausage, which went into the mix.
After that was all blended together I added a bag of our frozen sauce that had eggplant and black olives in it.  Cooked that down for awhile and planned to serve it on fettuccini.
Then, it was time for evening chores and I went out a few minutes early so I could finish things up and change my clothes.

Got the ponies tucked in and was back in the house just in time.

Adam arrived at 7 and dinner was delicious!!!
Now it's getting late.  Gary is watching the Bills game and I'm ready for a break.
Night all.

  1. Wow, you had a busy day! I know that we eventually had our black walnut trees removed by someone who wanted the wood on our first place. The mess was unbelievable and I guess equine don't get on well with black walnut.

    Everything looks wonderful!
