Time To Rest....

What a busy day!
 Six for dinner tonight.
The pups helped me with chores

and when we got back in the house it was all about cleaning.
Also set up the porch and moved out all my hibiscus plants.
After that, I started on dinner.
My job was to make sweet and sour cabbage, German Sausage and fried apples.

At 1:45 I left for a meeting at the library
and was very pleased to see the art work
on display in the Duryea room!

Stop in and take a look.  A very sweet show.
We have a gorgeous library....so inviting and very busy.

On the way home I stopped at Wegmans.
See all those white dots?  They are blossoms blowing off the trees.
Home at 3:30 with a lot left to do.
Fried up some apples and onions

 Finished up the red cabbage
and par boiled the sausage so it would be ready for Gary to grill.
A new appetizer.
Asparagus wrapped in ham tied with chives and dipped in to a honey
mustard and cheese sauce.  Delicious!!!

We had pumpernickel bread, cheddar cheese and
Ann brought a spectacular German Potato Salad.

Brenda and Al made a pie for dessert.
Stuffed!

Everyone left by 10 and we are more than pooped.

Night all.

  1. Just reading, I could lie out there by the BBQ on the comfy day bed and nod off!! What a yummy meal, and sharing is always such fun.

  2. Dear Lori, you pack more into any given day than I pack into the whole week! Amidst all this activity and preparation of yummy food and sitting down with guests for a good conversation, I notice there is no nap! Have you not reached the age yet where a daily nap is necessary? When I moved back to Missouri at 73, I found I needed an afternoon nap. It helped me get to sleep at night. Sounds counter-intuitive doesn't it, but it's the truth! Peace.
