Does Grey Ring A Bell?

We have a grey house and three grey barns.
On top of that, the sky was grey ALL day long.
The wind was so strong it lifted a car off the road and it hit a telephone pole.
It looked like this when I was ready to go out to the barn.
First, a little shoveling...that was after I chased Little Wonder around the kitchen trying to put his fleece jacket on.  He acted like it scared him.  Anyway, as soon as Gary came out to shovel, both dogs wanted to go back in the house.  Once again, LW did not want anyone to touch his jacket and it took a while for Gary to catch him and take it off.
I was on my own for chores.
The snow was very damp, and I'm glad it was not any deeper as it was heavy.
The girls were waiting for me.
I put hay nets under the shed roof and made a few piles around the front paddock.

It's such a boring season for them.

This was the scene for hours and hours.
When I got back to the house I let the pups out naked.
It was still blowing like crazy....

and Little Wonder was not too excited about having cold feet.

He still thinks the snow is ice cream.

A couple of days ago it was 72!  Today with the windchill it was 17.
Our very last glad blossoms.
I decided to reorganize the kitchen (it's 18x32 and this is the family room part).
We always have twinkie lights around the windows and we had to replace a string.
I love the light when it gets dark out.  It's like being in some nice lounge.
We had a fire going all day, making it very cozy.
See that begonia?  It has had constant blossoms since May.
(Those two fish were made by my High School art students over 20+ years ago).
As you can see, we have a lot of "stuff" all over the place.
I had run several errands earlier and picked up a few ingredients to make pizza for dinner.
The peppers and onions were from our garden...I had frozen them.

(this is what I made for the pups...they always get something extra on their dinner)
We still have about 8 tomatoes left from the garden and I put one in the salad along with some homemade croutons.

Perfect comfort food for our first full day with snow.
Night all.

  1. Love your kitchen/family room,it looks so cozy and welcoming. I'm not surprised LW doesn't like his jacket, neither does my Ginger. I did the same thing trying to catch her and failed until I called her to me with a treat and made her sit. Then she got the treat and I took it off her. She's afraid of it. Must feel weird to them for the first time I guess until they get used to it.

  2. I wonder if LW doesn't prefer to go nekked? I know I tried a coat on Morris and he wore it once like I think I mentioned...however he dislikes 'coats'.
    Keep warm!
