Larry's Birthday..

Less humidity today....yay!!!!!!!!!!!

After chores Karen took Maggie for a ride down the lane.

I did not accomplish much for the duration.
We were invited to a birthday party at 4, and I prepared an arrangement of sunflowers for our hostess.  We were celebrating Larry's 80th birthday.

Larry was an administrator at the Campus School (part of the State University of New York in Brockport) when I started my teaching career back in the 60s.  Ironically, Gary worked for him 2 decades later at the Rochester City School District.
They live in a beautiful home not too far from us.
Diane has beautiful gardens...

and Larry spends a lot of time on his golf cart!
Their basement is totally refinished and has a second complete full kitchen.
It's a perfect spot to have parties....or prepare for them.
Today several friends were assisting with the appetizers.
Because they are all foodies (like me)....they outdo themselves.
Here are some of things they prepared.

There were about 60 of us and after all this food, they had a catered dinner!

The subject matter for photos was irresistible.

Dinner?  Beans and greens, salt potatoes, penne/sauce, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, chicken parm and a salad.

This is Diane...our hostess.

I left a little after 7 to go feed the horses...
all the kitties were present at the same time.

Tucked the girls in, fed Phoebe, grabbed my Ukulele and went back to the party.

Two birthdays were celebrated along with a 50th anniversary.
Just before dark, we sat around a fire
ate cake

and played music.
A fun time and a great opportunity to play along with a whole new group of musicians.
Rest time.
Night all.

  1. A wonderful couple, beautiful garden, lovely warm home, and that food, and more. Happy Birthday greetings to Larry from a much colder NZ.
