THE DAY AFTER!

This is part of an article that was in the Democrat and Chronicle today. (I'm adding the photos)

Voters in Sweden, however, will have to wait a little longer to learn who truly won the town supervisor's slot and a pair of seats on the Town Board. Races there were too close to call.
According to unofficial results from the Monroe County Board of Elections, with all districts reporting on Tuesday night, Republican Town Supervisor Rob Carges was just 64 votes ahead of Democratic challenger Annie Crane.
Meanwhile, Republican Town Board candidates Peter Sharpe and Donald Roberts both trailed Democrats Lori Skoog and Mary Rich, but not by much.
There were still at least 85 absentee ballots yet to be counted. Plus, as long as they're postmarked on Election Day, valid absentee ballots can still trickle in to the Board of Elections as late as Nov. 10 for local voters and Nov. 16 for members of the military.
Carges could not immediately be reached for comment.

Crane said if the results stay as they are, the Democrats will nonetheless have secured two seats on the board, giving the town "a bipartisan board for the first time since 1993. And I think this will be very good for the town."

Reached at a party for supporters at Java Junction in Brockport, Rich on Tuesday said the results speak volumes about the way Sweden residents feel about the current Republican administration. "Finally, this one-party rule has been broken up. And even if things don't turn out the way we're hoping, if those in power don't open their eyes and see how disgusted the people of Sweden are with the way things are ... I don't know what to say."

Skoog said her team's performance at the polls showed how well-run their campaign was.
"We had the best organization, and we were out there being fact-based and trying to do the right thing," she said. "If nothing else, I think people in the community are waking up and are more aware of what's going on."
Election results will be certified on Nov. 27.

  1. Ahhhh so more waiting until everything is settled and counted. Sounds like it is in your favor though!
