Another one!
After chores I started working on the yard in preparation for our fundraiser tomorrow.
First Val and Kevin arrived with tables and chairs....
Then Annie arrived with more chairs, table clothes and a few other necessities.
After that Mary showed up with a carload.
The finishing touches will be made tomorrow morning.
Gary worked on the gardens and I picked flowers for the table arrangements.
Karen did chores again....
so we could drive into Rochester with Jenny and Scott
for an ARTRAGEOUS AFFAIR.
It's a huge fundraiser for the Cancer Coalition.
As soon as you walked in, you were given a glass of pink champagne.
474 people were there.
Appetizers...then a delicious dinner.
A local florist donated the center pieces and one person at each table had a piece of candy under their coffee cup. That person could take home the flowers! It was Gary.
This is Jenny's boss....State Assembly member, Harry Bronson.
We were invited as our daughter is his chief of staff and he was getting a very special award.
Part of his speech was about Jenny, a breast cancer survivor.
A surprise and very emotional for all of us.
After dessert and speeches, we headed home...too tired to stick around for music by Gap Mangione and his group. Fortunately we were able to have a preview before we ate.
A very memorable evening.
Night all.
Oh what a beautiful evening for cancer, Lori. Is your daughter, Jenny a cancer survivor? Your garden looks superb for the fundraiser and I love the corn fields lining the edges. Have a great day. Jo
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful!! I think looking at those bright flower arrangements could lift me out of a sour mood in no time!! (sometimes I wish I could afford a little farm instead of being an apartment dweller ;-) ).
ReplyDeleteSo much fundraising! What is your fundraiser for tomorrow? Good luck with it all!
