After flying all night, Ariana was to arrive at the Buffalo Airport by 8:30. Fortunately she was right on time, after having to make flight changes due to delays in Las Vegas.
I was awake at 5am and could not get back to sleep as I thought I would not wake up in time.
Daniela and I left the farm at 7:15 and Karen did the morning chores.
Checked on the girls when we got back home.
Daniela heard me say I wanted to make jam today and within half an hour both girls were out in the garden picking strawberries with Gary.
Just enough to make 9 jars.
Bimpa took all the grandkids out to lunch today, and they spent the afternoon at Jenny's.
While they were gone, we got a call from the Welcome Center saying that the Kents had arrived.
We were told about them by Sandy Bacon, who has passed through Brockport several times with her husband (and their dog Hatch) on the Manatee (their sailboat). We have had the pleasure of spending time with Sandy and Jeff ...all because they chose to dock in Brockport.
Mike and Jana Kent were also from Ohio and now their full time home is on the Lady J. They sold their house, their car, totally downsized all of their belongings and are traveling "light." As you already know, Gary and I love having the opportunity to meet people from all around the world as they pass through on the Erie Canal. Anyway, Gary went down to meet them as he had some errands to do in town. I spoke to Jana on the phone while he was there and invited them up to the farm. They were game. I can't tell you how many times this has happened.
We started out on the back porch with big fruit cups and learned more about each other.
After that, we raided the gardens and sent them "home" with spinach, leeks, rhubarb and strawberries. Jana has a blog: www.ladyjjourney.blogspot.com where you can follow their travels. Like me, she constantly takes pictures and posts them. Tomorrow we are going to pick them up and will go to a local restaurant (The Farmer's Table) for lunch. Such an interesting couple!
Gary went to Finn's ballgame (Ariana and Daniela were there with Jenny) and I stayed home.
Chores at 7:30.
At 8, Paula (across the street) and her friend Cindy brought Finnegan over to the indoor to see how he's doing. Seems off in the back.
He is such a beautiful boy.
I need a nap.
The girls are here watching soccer and I can't keep my eyes open.
Night all.
Busy day. Nice to meet new people from different places. Finnegan is a gorgeous boy.
