Turn On The Water....

At 7:30 Gary met our friend Doug down at Tim Horton's for coffee.  Doug installed our hydrant in the barn over 30 years ago and this is the third time he has been here to help Gary since it stopped working.  They got down to business at 8:30 and by 10 the water was back on.  What a relief.  Before he retired, Doug was a well driller and he knows a lot about anything water.
This morning felt so different...almost giving me a little hope for a change in the weather.  Even tho it was grey, there was no wind and the temperature was 11.  What a difference from -25.

At 11:15 we drove to Rochester and met Jenny for lunch.

She and Scott had given us a gift certificate for the City Grill (Christmas) and we decided to use it today.  Fortunately the roads were bare and it was an easy drive.
We sat in the bar overlooking the corner of East and Alexander.  A great big booth.
 The menu was great.
Gary and Jen had a tomato/basil soup with chives and a drizzle of creme fraiche.  Superb!
I had lettuce wraps/shared.  Also delish.
We went hog wild since we had $$$$$ to spend.
I had ribs and coleslaw.
Jenny had a club sandwich with homemade chips.
 Gary had a French Dip.

We always have a great time when we meet like this for lunch.
She was back at work by 1:15.

Ready for a nap when I got home, but it never happened.
Chores at 5:30.

Did not make a real dinner, but managed to put together a great fruit salad.
Guess what!!!  By next Tuesday we may have a couple of days in the 40s.  Is it possible?
Night all.

We aren't supposed to get warm until the second week in March!

  5. Water is the most valuable asset we can have. What a great man to come to the rescue. Food looks great, skies look grey, and the water is on!!

  6. I imagine -25* can be tough for you since it is not your normal. Funny how I've seen that down to -65* and don't think much of it. We know what we live. Hope you have happier times soon.
