I set the dining room table before going out to do chores this morning.
Cold, grey and snowing off and on.
Made a quick trip down to Wegmans as I need a couple things for dinner.
Got home and cleaned the brussel sprouts I picked the other day. Jenny, Scott, Finn and Coop
were coming up for our belated Thanksgiving dinner.
Made some Johnny Cake, stuffing and the turkey went in the oven at 1.
Late afternoon the sun appeared.
Scott arrived at 4....
and helped me make potato pancakes.
He actually had to take over while I fed the horses.
I guess I was too preoccupied to take a lot of foodie photos.
It was delicious. Turkey, stuffing, gravy, potato pancakes with sour cream/applesauce, Mashed potatoes for Finn and Coop, brussel sprouts, acorn squash, cranberry/orange relish, waldorf salad
and pie for dessert.
A pig out. The older I get, the fuller I feel.
Night all.
Quite a feast! Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteYour Thanksgiving fare sounds so good! Kinda nice to have a snowy day for the big meal. I'm planning Christmas dinner now! Haha creeps up so quickly.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks delicious! I'm sure everyone enjoyed the meal. I love potato pancakes. Now I need to think about making them again.
ReplyDeleteYour table looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving Lori! I'm glad you got to celebrate it with your loved ones.
Wow, Lorie, that was some feast! Happy Thanksgiving. We do all this at Christmas time! Except for the delish looking pumpkin pie. I agree with you: I don't seem to be able to fit much in foodwise, these days. Thanks for visiting my blog; I was frantic when I couldn't find it on my new computer. Have a great weekend. Jo
ReplyDeleteI have an unwritten rule on turkey day. If there are 5 pies I must take a sliver of each. For sure a chore after the main meal. Burp!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful start to your holiday season! On every visit here I find myself wanting to move in with you - it looks like a beautiful life with much to be thankful for!
ReplyDeletehugs

ReplyDeleteMichaele...a friend brought me that tablecloth from Ecuador and the "sun room" is our living room. That afternoon sun makes it feel so good.
