Today was all about flowers. Guess we were under the influence of Louise, the master gardener and Mistress of Apple Creek Farm.
Karen had a little vacaaaa and I had chore duty this morning.
No problem. After I finished, went out on the back porch to grab some shots of the morning glories and there was Sophie....sound asleep in her condo.
This afternoon there was a memorial service for Louise, and we were in charge of getting some flowers together for the reception afterwards.
Gary kept cutting and I kept filling jars.
When we got to the funeral home...there were even more. Louise was surrounded.
This is Jack, her husband. Normally he is a pretty quiet guy, but today he knocked our socks off with a slide presentation that was full of humor. Just enough to keep us laughing instead of crying. It was truly a celebration of her life.
After that, there was a short reception for friends and family.
Louise would have liked it.
Home around 6:45 and Saint Karen did the chores for me. I am whipped.
Night all.
The flowers for Louise are beautiful. So sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderful tribute to Louise. The flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the loss of your friend, Lori, but what a wonderful celebration of Louise' life! You can see when a couple had a great relationship: the one left behind can let the other "go" I loved the photo of Sophie asleep on her condo. Have a great day. Greetings, Jo (now back in Tz)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers, a fitting celebration with nature's glorious colours. And after a day with sadness and laughter, we all need a Saint to help out. Cheers,Jean.
