Another Break....

By this time tomorrow we will probably be back in the single digits.  Today we were in the 30s and it will get to 31 or so tomorrow.  After that, back into the deep freeze as in -30 with the windchill on Tuesday.  Can't wait.....

The sunrise was gorgeous this morning.

Part of the day was sunny.

 But it ended up grey.
Jack and Louise stopped by to spend some time by the fire.  I made a banana cream pie and forgot to take a picture.

It was still light when I went out to do evening chores....by the time I grabbed my camera it was too dark to get a decent picture.  I will say, however, that I changed the door Maggie and Angel come in (I even brought Moon that way) and it was smooth sailing.  No danger of Berlin trying to give them nips as they walked by her stall...much happier.
As you can see, we still personify "snow country."

 Leftovers for dinner...

I want to share this painting with you.  It is a watercolor of Berlin's dam....Marieke, and was painted many years ago by Pat Turcotte.  Pat is a friend from high school days and has become a very successful artist.  She attends many top level equine events and has been commissioned by several olympic riders.  Love her work.

(pardon the reflection in the glass)
Marieke and I were in her first breed class.  She was an Anglo-Trakehner by Abdullah, who was in the 1984 Olympics (Team Gold).  In 1985 Abdullah had won a world jumping competition in Berlin, Germany when Marieke foaled....and that's how Berlin got her name.

Night all.

  8. What a gorgeous painting Lori! And I think we're out of the woods now as far as below freezing as of tomorrow -- looks rather balmy after that in the 40s by Friday!
