Lovely Lillies

Last night Mary Pat (my favorite model) was in the neighborhood and stopped in to say "goodbye" as in a few days she and her husband are moving to North Carolina.  How will I ever catch her for pictures now?  She will be missed big time!

This morning, Gary and Ariana were outahere by 7am so they could go to Java and his yoga class.  After that, they took a walking tour of the SUNY Brockport campus.
Lorrie and I did the usual.

 Then I shredded some paper....

My 29 year old Berlin has not liked the humidity and heat the last two weeks and doesn't leave the run-in until the conditions are just right.
I decided to drag the outdoor arena and had to jump start our ancient Toro lawn tractor.  After that I wanted to mow the back pasture and our regular lawn mower was dead.  My fault.  No mowing (I did call our trusty and very mechanical friend (David) and over the phone he knew it was a fuse).  Fortunately he had time to come over and pop in a new one.

At 1:30 I put the dogs in the car and hurried down to the animal hospital so Phoebe and Gucci could have their heartworm tests, a wellness exam for Phoebe and some very expensive product that would prevent the heartworm.  A billion dollar bill....what a racket.
I've been going to this animal hospital since the late 60s.  Holy moly!

Brought the dogs home and made a very quick trip to Wegmans.
Got back just in time to meet David and have the lawn tractor tended to.

Kept waiting for it to rain and it never happened.

Chores at 5:30.

Gary continued to dig up his garlic....

and I could not resist taking pictures of all the newest lily blossoms.

Ariana spent the afternoon reading, but took some time to pick peas for me.  This morning she helped Jenny put mulch in her gardens.
 Before dinner I grabbed a zucchini ...
and we had leftover sauce on some organic pasta.

I was already to post today's blah blah when Ariana commented on the sunset.  The trees were blocking my view so I went across the street where Paula and Gary (not my Gary) were sitting in lounge chairs literally bathed in a pinky purple light.  There, I had a great view.

 Sprout modeled for me.

 And that's a wrap!
Night all.

  1. look at your garden flourishing, and those sunsets, way too stunning for words. Well worth the waiting for, and the extra minutes outside. Here we have heavy rain, snow a few hours north, main road closed there, 12 inches, and another 12 inches today. pity too much of a blizzard for the skiers!! Greetings to all, including Ariana, and departing friends, Jean.

  2. You always have such amazing garlic! No fair though that Gary gets to do Yoga while you get to do mowing : )
