Another exciting day at Skoog Farm. I'm feeling a lot better but must be in s l o w.
We had a little gritty snow this morning but it did not last. Just starting to adjust to this time change
and the girls are getting in the groove. I go more by light than time.
The dogs were on alert when Jack and Louise drove in the driveway. They brought us 2 big bags of apples from their orchard. Seymour didn't care (or he was in a zone).
I did go to Wegmans and got a ton of groceries. Home in time for lunch and resumed my position in front of the fire.
Even tho it gets dark early, it is a very sweet time of day....love having the lights on in the barn.
Much more motivated to make dinner.
BBQued drum sticks, sweet potatoes and a carrot and apple salad....pretty orange, but we were not in the mood for a green salad.
So much for having my art class in the studio. Too cold (although it will be in the 60s Saturday, Sunday and Monday). The good side....we always have a fire going in the house and it's very cozy.
I have made an effort to leave off political chatter on my blog, but I do hope you will go out and vote tomorrow. Get involved. Personally, I'm ready for a whole new way to run the election process (but that's a whole 'nuther story). In England, they do it right. Check it out.
Night all.
Glad you are feeling better. Brett forwarded the pear pie recipe to me. Thanks! - glad you are feeling better. I'll be glad when tomorrow is over; I'm so tired of political ads, commentary and phone calls.
ReplyDeleteLooks very cozy there at Skoog Farm. Briskly cold here today in Maine - good day for napping. I think I'm a bear and am supposed to hibernate in winter. . . yawwwwn. . . xx
ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad you are feeling better. I cannot believe you said the S word I am not ready yet.
ReplyDeleteI have to come to your house someday for dinner it always looks so good and that fire yes indeedy, perfect. Take care and even though I am Canadian I think everyone should vote it is very important No vote no complain later you had you chance. B
You're dinner looked marvelous!
ReplyDeleteThe time change really places havoc with my internal clock, but I deal better with the "fall back" than the "spring forward". Just wish it was lighter out until say 7pm.
There is a certain comfort in a warm fire and a cozy barn after dark as well. I'm with you, this election business here is indeed in need of reform. Never have liked the electoral college business but like, that is for another time.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are so close to Wegman's, but still very much in the wide open country. You are in a great spot! I'm glad you are on the rebound.
ReplyDeleteglad you're feeling better Lori!
ReplyDelete& dinner looks amazing - as always.
