MUGGY BUGGY

It was raining this morning!  Nothing to write home about, but at least it was a welcome change.
There were two 5 minute downpours...enough to wet the horse's backs.  I was on my own again.
When Belle arrived, Abbe gave her a hard time.  I predicted they would become pals and today the friendship began.  They both went out to the arena and ate some grass.

The picture below is for Tina.  She gave us this plant in memory of Pony.  Look at those blossoms...just as white as she was.
The girls stayed with the boys and Kevin until 3ish.  In the meantime, I picked up the blades for our lawn tractor and took them out to Danny's so they could get it back in service.  It was so hot!  Got home and started to mow.  When I got to the front yard this snapping turtle was there.  Gary was kind enough to take it to a creek down the road.
The kids played Sequence while I continued with the lawn.  This was Jill's first night to solo on chores.  Jenny arrived at 5:30 and we were off to Brockport.
There were a lot of cars in the parking lot behind the Stoneyard.
25 cent wing night...and the kids were going to do some serious taste testing.

Coop liked looking out the window at the ducks on the Canal.
He ordered 10 (the minimum) medium Buffalo wings.
 Jenny ordered 10 Garlic Parmesan.
Daniela and Ariana also went for 10 medium.
Finn is not a wing man.  He had Mozzerella sticks.
I got 10 country sweet and Gary chose mild.  Jenny, Daniela and I had side salads and we also got a basket of fries for the table.
We left a little after 7 and the air was still dead.
Took a few shots of the boats at the Welcome Center.  The dock was packed.

Jenny took the troops for ice cream and went to watch Bimpa play baseball.  We went home and I finally finished mowing the lawn and around the pastures.
I'm too pooped to participate in anything else.  The heat and humidity do a number on me.  By Thursday it might hit 100!  What the heck!
Night all.

  2. I imagine the humidity wouldn't be a lot of fun, but I sure would love a sunny day. Sure has been a cool and rainy summer for us. That makes two in a row. :( A couple more weeks starts the rainy season before winter. Where the heck did summer go? Hope you can enjoy it some...the alternative isn't that fun.

  3. Brutally hot here too, and it's supposed to get hot by the end of the week, whatta summer huh? But I think the wings are a great way to get your mind off of it!!

  4. Hot here, too, and wish we'd had your brief rain. Grass is brown, veggies are limping . . But those wings sure look yum.

    Glad the friendship has begun!

  6. Ugh to the hot temps and the high humidity. It does sap one's energy.
Stay cool - hmmm, maybe a trip to the beach is what you need?! (If only you didn't have to get back in a hot car and ride home, huh?!)

  7. I'm impressed you got so much done in this heat and humidity. It does me in too. Maybe it will break soon and cool off.

I really liked the turtle and am glad he got to some water source.
