This morning when I went out to do chores Barb AND Jill were there to help. No heavy duty work like yesterday and we were done by 8:30.
I gave Belle the two side pastures and put the others in the back. They were able to touch each other over the fence and it went well.
They predicted thunderstorms last night but we got nothing.
There were about 50 cherries on our young little tree...of course I had to eat some.
All kinds of new blossoms out by the Studio Barn.
I don't think it will take long for Belle to join the others. About the time Mustafa leaves I will start working her in.
It got muggier and muggier as the afternoon went on. I stayed in the house most of the day.
Took some shots of the hollyhocks when I went out to hang some clothes on the line.
Put the fan on me and started working on dinner.
Started with some coleslaw.
Par boiled some chicken breasts, marinated them for a few hours....then added homemade BBQ sauce.
Cleaned up some strawberries for the kids. Guess who was coming to dinner?
Jack and Louise stopped up for a visit and Jen and the kids went out to groom our horses. They loved it! The horses practically fell asleep in front of the fan with 4 sets of hands brushing them. After that they went down to Jenny's ....vegged and took a swim...then came back to the farm at 6.
Time for dinner.
and some swinging.
After we ate, there was a little scrabble action and down time before going to see the fireworks.
The crew left about 8pm.
I took a cold shower after a very hot day, put on my nightgown....and when out to put the horses in for the night.
It was just about dark. After all the other horses were tucked in, I went and got Belle and let her go wherever she wanted. After running around for a few minutes she went right into the barn and I put her in her stall for the night. What a smart girl.
Look at the shine on that Berlin's coat!
Better late than never I decided (still in my nightgown) to drive down the road to see if I could catch some shots of the fireworks. Gucci and Phoebe road shotgun.
Got there 5 minutes before it was over.
A huge crowd. Every parking lot in the area was jammed. I parked on the side of the road.
Independence....
Night all.
