After morning chores, I took Jill over to Barb's to meet Grace.
She was in her stall and Mustafa was able to go in and out. Both of them had already been on grass for about 45 minutes (one at a time). They had been in their stalls since about 4 yesterday and Mustafa was a little anxious, since he was used to a lot of turnout. Offered to help Barb take them both out at the same time to let them get used to each other. We started out with Mustafa in the far pasture (loose) and after a few minutes, took the lead off Grace in the near pasture.
Both were doing well, so we let them graze together (stood with them).
I think this will be a very smooth transition.
Didn't Mustafa touch the fence! Bada Boom! He was off and running....which got Grace moving too.
They ran around for a minute then went back to grass.
Both were adjusting to the sound of Barb's dog barking and someone mowing the lawn across the street... and kept looking in that direction. No biggie.
The flies were out in large numbers, so Barb put Mustafa in first and then Grace. She was dry...he was pretty sweaty. I imagine they both prefer the coolness of the barn without all the green heads.
Things are lookin' good over at Polle's Legacy.
