IS THIS THE CALM BEFORE ANOTHER 6" OF SNOW?

We started the day off with a gorgeous sunrise.

Then it was time for morning chores.

Golllllllly!  No wind...and lots of sunshine.

 Pretty cold tho.....

 Barb and I had things under control...we are in such a groove when it comes to chores...automatic pilot.

There she goes now!

 Ummmm.  Sunday morning and I was not prepared for the Sunday Stills Challenge - "Old Churches and Graveyards".  So Gucci, Phoebe and I jumped in the car and drove down to Brockport to get some shots.  You can find them in the post below.

Now for the cat and dog show.  All of our small creatures were asking me to take their pictures.

Enough of this!  It was drumming day with Jeff and I had to get ready.  When he got here, I practiced playing a bell and drum at the same time while he played the djembe.  It was not easy to work on two different rhythms but I loved giving it a shot.  I am determined to get a doundounba, sangba or a kenkeni  (if I win the lottery ...never tried.... all three).  These are the base drums that keep the pulse going and you play them with sticks.  I posted a good example of this on Saturday (video).

 We started jamming right off the bat...before everyone was there.   It sounded pretty darn good.

We actually even talked about getting matching dashikis for performances that may be down the road.

  Why not?

As most of us are beginners...we were easing into it.  Today we worked on transitioning from a break.

Below, we were just getting started and eventually were able to do just that.

 

By the time everyone left, I was ready for a cupa tea and the fire.

Barb did chores tonight so Gary and I headed down to the Bergen Family Restaurant for dinner.

It was closed...so we decided to try Stones.

 

Did you ever here of a Pittsburgh Steak Salad?  I had a Pittsburgh Chicken Salad.  Did not remember my trusty little camera was in my pocket until I was finished.  It was very good!  Gar devoured an open faced prime rib sandwich.  We were back home before 8.

That's it for now.  Supposed to get a boatload of snow after midnight.
