A QUIET DAY FOR ME....

Before 7 it was easy to tell that it was going to be one of those beautiful mornings...

When I went out to the barn, Barb was already there and had fed grain to the horses.  She stopped to pick up something on her way to work and went into automatic pilot!  Even cleaned her horses stall!  How lucky can I be to have such a competent person helping me so much.

It never got very warm today... just windy!

Around noon I left for Apple Creek Farm to mow the lawn.  Fortunately I had on a hoodie and could cover my head.  I was freezing.

There were still many flowers blooming in the gardens.

The apples were ready for picking and that is just what was going on.
Before I left, I picked 5 pails of apples for the ponies.

Stopped at Wegmans on the way home and started dinner when I got back to the farm.

Took a little break and decided to do chores before we ate.

Seymour and Sid decided to join me.

I was done in a heartbeat and attempted to collect the kittens on the way back in.

It was almost dark.

Didn't I have to chase those little BRATS again?  First I tricked Seymour and then it took awhile to catch that black and white thing in the picture below!  I'm so afraid they are going to get to close to the road.

We finally ate a little after 7.  Pork and apple sausage with fried apples and onions along with cooked cabbage, carrots, onions and potatoes in a sweet and sour "soup" of sorts.  Yummy and perfect for a fall dinner.

Now I have to get over by the fire and watch some dancing.
Night all.

  1. Hi Lori sorry I've been absent. Life hit "busy" for me all of a sudden, but I think things are settling down now.

I love those sunrise pictures beautiful =)

The apple pictures make me miss childhood visits to the local orchard for fresh cider. Nothing like it!

  2. Nice photos of the morning. It is quite cool here, but did get up to 80 degrees today. The weather can't make up its mind.

  3. Definitely going to have to call her Saint Barb. Must be so nice to have the extra set of hands.

Oh, wouldn't I love those apples. And they are for the horses! We pay $1.49 a pound (or more) so I don't get apples too often as five kids eat them up pretty fast.

  5. Gorgeous photos of the morning. It was windy here too and cold. Those little kitties are a handful I'll wager. Dinner looked very Autumny and delicious. Have a good week.
