The morning started out ok, as the girls and I set out for the barn.
Grey, quiet....not too cold.
By the time the horses had their grain, Phoebe and Gucci were ready to go back in the house.
A familiar story as of late.
Gar helped me with chores...
(Do you have a lot of huge black crows where you live)?
then he went down to Java and I finished up in the barn...back to the house a little after 9.
Put my pictures on the computer and attempted to send some snow shots to Louise so she could forward them to China. As soon as I had a group of 8 or more, iphoto went off and I had to start again. This happened 3 times. The more I kept scrolling my 2000 photos that always seem to be on my computer (even tho I remove 600 every 10 days) the crummier I felt. Almost like eye strain. I gave up and took a shower...still felt like crap and got back in bed. Light headed.
Gucci kept me company.
In the meantime, the skies cleared up and the sun was brilliant. There I was....missing it all.
When Gary got home, after going for a walk with Randy, he brought me some gingerale and crackers...then he got wood to start a fire in the kitchen.
I started to rally, but stayed in the house.
We were supposed to be at Jenny's for the Super Bowl (which I don't ever watch). I was responsible for a big salad and some guacamole...so I had to get my act together.
The pups bathed in the afternoon sun.
Justine had chore duty tonight...
I got everything together, put on some clothes and we headed into the village.
On Super Bowl Sunday, EVERYTHING IS SUPER (overdone). There must have been over 20 adults and children and enough food for 50! Cooper and Finn were down in their new family room ready for action. Kevin really worked hard to get this space done in time for tonight, and it looked great. He and Jenny are excellent hosts.
Was it like this where you were? We had pizza, wings, 2 kinds of chili, pasta, bread, dips, chips, salad, fruit, sausage and cheese, shrimp, cupcakes, cheesecake and more....
We were back at the farm before halftime. I thought THE WHO did not put on a very good show. Yuck!
Now, I am going to finish my huge cupa tea with lemon....put on some PJs and crash. Tomorrow is another day. Night all. May the best team win.
Hope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteYes, we have big, black crows, who can barely lift their overstuffed bodies to fly away when the cars come by! Hope you feel better! The Saints won.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better. We don't do anything for SuperBowl. My hubby will watch it off and on, but we don't do the parties or eat all the foods. It's real low key around here, the way we like it.
ReplyDeleteMy twinlings had their birthday sleepover and we ate some ice cream cake and pizza. And we did a treasure hunt for them to find their pressies. That was fun.
And of course, it snowed all day and is snowing now and will be snowing off and on all week, bah!
We have crows, too. But we also have huge ravens. They look like hawks when they fly. They are amazing!

Hi Lori, I hope you are feeling better. I'm under the weather also. Not quite sure what it is. I just feel blechy (is that a word). Just want to stay in bed under a LOT of blankets. Feel better! Cindy
ReplyDeleteOh Lori, I do hope you feel better soon. Wrap up warm and rest up. I do LOVE your pups. Too cute for words. Have a good week. (((Hugs))) Jo
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better tomorrow. Glad you survived the stuporbowl.
ReplyDeleteSorry hear you are under the weather, hope you are feeling better this morning. I alway enjoy reading you journals. Love your dogs. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon. We only had chili cheese dip, BBQ cocktail sausages and cupcakes. Low key. :)
ReplyDeleteWe do not have crows, but have ravens who are much larger (and they kill my chickens). I laid on the couch doing my best to enjoy the Super Bowl (I love football) and not miss a commercial, but like you I was so sick. Maybe next year....
ReplyDeleteOh, ya, and The Who sucked. While I like their music from their day, they are now old and out-of-tune. What is with the trend of having "old bands" do the Super Bowl. Could we see someone who might not slip and break a hip??
