Birch Trees

We had a major drop in temperature today...and it was grey much of the time.  Gary met a friend for breakfast...he has a much more active social life than I do and one way or the other he is going to get out for coffee.  Little Wonder and I did not spend much time in the kitchen as I had a class starting at ten.  We made a quick trip out to the Studio at 8 to turn on the heater.

I only had a couple of students today, but we had a great time.  Christa started on a new water color sampler and we worked on looseness.

She's was really able to let go and will have a good time finishing this one.
Anita finished her cabin and
then messed around with some color mixing.
I've watched several videos of people using the side of a credit card dipped in paint to create a line....then they drag the card to the left and it looks like a birch tree.  So I tried it.  Did not have a credit card (which would have been much better) and used a piece of thin cardboard.
When it dried I started to add some paint and can't wait to work on it again.

Christa and Anita gave it a try too.
Class was over at 11:30 but we gabbed for another hour about all kinds of stuff.  I really am enjoying this.  After lunch, Little Wonder and I took a snooze.  Gary joined us for awhile and then went out to work in one of the gardens.  So many leaves came down today.
Dinner....
Sautéed onions to go on grilled turkey burgers and made a salad with pears, apples, crasins and walnuts.

We are definately having simpler meals.
Just before dark I had to grab something our of the Studio.  Love that space.
Little Wonder always goes where I go.
Night all.

PS
I had to get dig out an old keyboard (so glad I had one) as the letter "p" quit working on the one I got with my iMac.  Has that ever happened to anyone?

  1. Your meals might be simpler but they still look good. I’m the one who has always enjoyed seeing what you cook. In my house we too are eating lighter dinners. Kathy

  3. You seem to have a full social life from my perspective. That does look like birch trees, You seem to be getting into the swing of the new diet.
