Scott's Boat

We had a real mix of weather today and the temperature got up to 85 (muggy), had some late afternoon heavy rain and it went down to 72 by 6:30pm.

Right after chores I continued my search for the black mask and did a little mowing.
It just started to rain when I finished and Alice arrived for Spa Day.

The routine was the same.  Buddy first (very relaxed)

and Rebel, second.  I am concerned about the way he was standing....don't think he liked the cement floor.

He could bear weight on both front feet when I picked them and was very cooperative.
As soon as they left the grooming room he was walking normally.
We were invited to visit Jenny, Scott, Finn, Coop and Heather at a cottage they rented on Canisius Lake for the week.  Alice was going to have horse duty as we were concerned about the weather forecast and wanted to make sure Rebel and Buddy were not out in a thunder/lightning storm.  I made a big salad, took a shower and we were off.  Little Wonder went with us.

The cottage was perfect and the lake was beautiful.

I was very proud of the way Little Wonder behaved himself.  He is very wary of people and stuck with me all afternoon.

After a few snacks, several of Scott's family members arrived and he took us out for a boat ride around the lake.  First it was the oldies....just cruising.

Little Wonder did not mind the ride at all.  I think he liked being cooler out on the lake.  He had been in a boat one other time, when we toured the canal with our friends....Jana and Mike.

I grew up on Chautauqua Lake and spent much of my time on boats.  This felt so good.

When we got back to the cottage, the younger generation went out for some tubing.  The lake temperature was 79 degrees,
Jenny and Gary got the grill going and prepared chicken, burgers and hot dogs.

All the guests brought dishes to pass and we had a feast.  By that time there was a major downpour.

After stuffing ourselves (Little Wonder had some chicken),
we headed back to the farm and it rained the whole way.
Next on the agenda....evening chores.

So tired.
Night all.
