Rhubarb, Scapes, Strawberries and Lettuce

Whoa.  We had sunshine and it heated up to 90 degrees.

I started mowing the lawn after chores and around 11 Lisa and Ed C. stopped over.  They live in Baltimore and it was great to catch up.  Ed is the one who got us started on growing San Marzano tomatoes, and now we are smart enough to collect the seeds and grow them from scratch.  He also made our dining room table.  Very talented.  He and Gary went out to the garden and picked a ton of rhubarb and some scapes.  Lisa and I picked lettuce and I gave them a quart of strawberries.

After they left I finished the lawn and got ready to go to the
Library for bridge.
Gary went out to lunch with our friend Randy and when he got home, continued working on the gardens. A never ending job.

Chores at 8:15 and still very hot out there.  This coming Monday - Thursday we will have temperatures between 90 and 95.  I will not like that at all.

Tucked the boys in and Sidney waited for me in the front paddock.

Night all.

  1. Your last photo, perfect landscape setting for a garden party, looks wonderful. Scapes, are they what we call spring onions?

  2. I'm in agreement with you on the hot weather. We keep having rain. The first hay crop is abundant! Gary takes excellent care of his gardens.

  3. We are supposed to be very hot and humid starting on Sunday along with storms. Hmmm.

What a beautiful place you have and all those gardens! Gary must adore gardening!
