A cold and rainy day. Rebel was very stiff this morning and acted like he did not want to leave his stall. I touched base with Andrea and went in to get some hot water and when I got back out to the barn he was way out in the pasture. Buddy joined him and I decided he could eat some grass before I soaked his right foot and wrapped it.
I can't tell you how much easier it is when I use this red boot. By then the bute had kicked in and I was able to pick both of his front feet without a problem.
He just stands in the cross ties and I groom him. Had rolled and his back was a mess as it had been raining.
Buddy was fairly patient while I did this, then it was his turn to get groomed. A spa day without Alice.
The soaking and wrapping went very well. My boot was not as nice as Andrea's.
They futzed around before going back out. I had plenty to clean up.
The entire time (1hour) I was in the grooming room, Little Wonder eventually went back to the house and waited for me.
Then he took a snooze in the living room.
The fire was going and we all felt like wet noodles this afternoon.
Little Wonder and Sidney were on my lap at the same time.
Evening chores at 6.
The boot was still on....yay!
Tucked them in for the night and headed back to the house for dinner. We were due for some pasta and a salad.
Thank you for all your comments last night. Some good suggestions about boots.
Night all.
