Another very grey day with some rain....in the low 40s.
On with the sheets so they would not get too wet.
Little Wonder did not feel too great this morning. He didn't eat his breakfast and at first he did not even want to go to the barn with me. Fortunately he changed his mind and ate when we got back in the house.
After chores I raked the arena as Janet was having a lesson with Dawn at 10:15.
He was a very good boy and could not wait to have a peppermint.
Janet had spoken to me about having Madi and Jackson come to the farm to do some community service. That was a surprise! Well, they came this afternoon and just when they arrived it started to rain. Their goal was to pick up the sticks on the lawn under the willow tree after which they raked up all the leaves. Fortunately it stopped raining within 5 minutes and these two kids worked their butts off.
You have already met both of them. Madi did chores for Janet while she was at a conference, and her brother, Jackson, has come out two times to help stack hay. They are the most thoughtful and terrific kids. Of course Janet has been a great influence on them and they are growing up to be so responsible. Their parents are also very supportive. We were very grateful!
Sat by the stove in the living room this afternoon and then did evening chores.
The ponies were tuned in to some shooting on the road behind us and it took awhile to get them to come in for dinner. The pasture looks like a disaster area.
Seamus and
Rebel were filthy. By the way, Rebel has improved more and was moving quite well.
I made a 20 minute dinner. Homemade Mac and cheese
and a delicious salad.
Back to the fire.
Night all.
We have a snow storm coming in. Those kids are fantastic. Such a big help to you, getting that done.
