Timberrrrrrrrrrrrr

First of all, I did not sleep well last night because I kept thinking about all the work that had to be done today.  Luckily we had no rain.

Chores as usual.

Scott was on the job a little after 9:30, starting with the butternut tree branches hanging over the driveway.

After that he moved to the front of the house where he took down three trees and another dead pine.

It sure looks bare and we are going to have to get creative in the spring.

It's been a long time coming.

I cut and pasted this from my FB post so I would not have to write it again, but it summarizes our day.

It takes a village. Family, friends and neighbors. Thanks to Scott and all helping, 5 trees were taken down, 3 were trimmed, the two by the arena had over 12 feet taken off, the Town truck was loaded to capacity, Ed's truck was loaded to capacity and the rest was chipped! All this was done between 9:30 and 3:15 with a lunch break in between. At first we thought our crew consisted of Gary, Jenny, Scott, Cooper, Alan (Janet's son) and me. Then Don (Janet's husband) arrived and Cooper called in 2 friends as Jen realized what a big job this was and we needed more help. As if that was not enough, our neighbors saw all the activity and came over to join in the fun....with chain saws and another big truck. Janet arrived after her Judo event and helped us getherdone! Gary and I could not be more appreciative to have help like this. Thank you so much....Jen, Scott, Cooper, Alan, Don, Annette, Ed, Janet, Francis and Kaiden.We could not have accomplished all this without you.

While the crew was working like crazy, Little Wonder and I drove to several places gathering food for lunch.

When we got back to the farm everyone took a break and chowed.

Prior to that we were dragging all the debris over near the chipper or to the Town truck for it to be removed on Monday.

Some serious pruning is going to have to be done in front of the indoor.  I am very unhappy that we were asked (by our insurance company) to take these two trees down.  I negotiated to turn them into "shrubs" and they said it was ok.

Many hands make light work....no joke.

Cooper and his pals, Francis and Kaiden, really came through for us.  And let me just say that it was not easy for them to keep up with Jenny....the dynamo.

So relieved to have all this work done.

Very dark this afternoon....almost looks like rain again.

Tucked the ponies in a few minutes early.
