The wind got stronger and stronger as the day passed.
There was ice on the water trough.
After chores I started working on a project involving
the work of my friend Helen Smagorinsky, who passed
away a few days ago.
Brockport has a Museum Without Walls and we
would like to have a panel installed on her behalf.
So far, so good.
I decided to make something that was totally out of the 40s and 50s
for dinner. Orange jello, grated carrots and crushed pineapple.
Did you ever have this when you were a kid?
I put it in the frig and
spent the rest of the afternoon with my buddies.
Gary went to Wegmans and forgot the most important
ingredient for our dinner tonight. Ironically,
we got a call from Brenda and Al, who were driving
over to Batavia to pick up dinner at Alex's. We jumped
on the bandwagon and they dropped food off for us
on their way home. The next best thing to going out.
Afterward, we turned that jello into
dessert, topped with whipped cream
and walnuts. It was delicious! I'll bet kids who don't
like carrots and pineapple would eat this in a heartbeat.
We had some good light late afternoon.
Night all.
Yes, we had that jello! All jello desserts had 'stuff' in them and probably one reason I grew up and decided NOT to ever have jello! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteI'm considering calling in an order soon to a favorite restaurant that just opened up for drive through pick ups.
I am SO tired of my own unimaginative cooking!
Ah, jello salads! I don't recall having one with carrots, but I think we probably had one at least weekly. How about tomato aspic?
