Living In A Wind Tunnel....

It was about 40 degrees when the pups and I went out to the barn.
Plenty of sunshine.

I finished chores and put them back in the house
before I grabbed Rebel to get him cleaned up and wrapped for the day.

Of course his wound was full of shavings this morning, but I think it was worth it for him to have some time exposed to the air.
I cleaned it and put on a very light wrap to protect him as much as possible.
The wind was insane, so the ground was drying up a lot faster.
He always wants to be sure there are no more carrots when I turn him out.

When the horses heard me closing up the grooming room, they all ran into the front paddock.  Rebel had just rolled and was feeling his cherrios again.
Eventually they all settled down and went back to eating hay.

I drove down to Country Max to buy more shavings so I will be able to keep Rebel's stall nice and clean.  He will probably look the same way tomorrow morning regardless.

This afternoon I ran a couple errands.
By 5, we were getting some very good light.

At 5:30 I went out to remove Rebel's wrap and his pastern was so clean I did not
have to do anything.  Naked again.

I picked up some asparagus today and wanted to make a white, veggie pizza for dinner.

It tasted great, but if I did it again, I would make a white sauce to go
under the veggies.
Can't have pizza without a salad.
Night all.

  1. Good to see Rebel is healing so well. We had crazy wind today too. Hope it's blowing out the bad weather and making room for the warmer temps and sunshine.

  2. the best news of all, ( Rebel, that is )... and maybe your warmer days are arriving. Down here, a cold start, outside I had a hat and windproof gloves, as well as fleece tops and bottoms!!!
