Rebel and the Girls Were Ticked Off.....

No dogs went to the barn with me this morning.
-20 degrees with the wind chill factor.

I fed the ponies their breakfast and did not turn them out.
 They were not happy.
 Especially Berlin.

I cleaned the stalls around them and made sure they had plenty of water.
As per usual, it took me much longer than normal.
A little after 10 I headed back to the house.
Last night we picked up about 3 more inches of snow.
 Phoebe and
Little Wonder were anxious to go outside for a potty break
but they did not last more than a couple minutes.

Around 2 the sun appeared and I decided to let Rebel
and the girls out.

I gave them more hay and warm water,
picked the stalls and set them up for tonight.

By 5, they were back in the barn for the night.

Gary finished coating the farm table and I'm starting to get used to it.
It is really big....9 feet long and will easily hold 10 chairs.
Let's see how it works for my art class tomorrow....if anyone shows up.
Dinner....leftover Sloppy Joes and Coleslaw with a side of Roasted Potatoes.
Comfort food is always good on a night like this.
After dinner I went to a meeting at the library
and missed an amazing shot of the moon.
Home sweet home.
Night all.

  1. You really got slammed with the snow and low temps. Love the look on Berlin's face. It was only -2 here and got up to 3 during the day. The herd went out and ate 3 bales of hay today. They couldn't wait to come in early and get warm and eat a nice hot mash. We had a little snow but mostly icy rain that's not going anywhere soon. The trees are totally iced but it does look kind of pretty when the sun hits them. Hope you warm up and that snow melts some. The table is gorgeous.

  2. That table is beautiful!
Cold is the word for the day around here...that and snow. You guys really got nailed and the winds look like they were wicked. Last night the winds came in from the NE and everyone was in a spot out of the winds.
Sloppy Joes...you gave me and idea for tonight!

  3. Wow, you're living in a regular winter wonderland! So pretty! But doesn't feel pretty, I get that. We're having such a mild winter. We've had beautiful sunshine and brisk temps, many foggy days and a few days where we're looking to build an ark...hello mud! Can't complain though, no freezes as of yet.
