Headed in the Right Direction...

0 this morning but the temperature made it to about 20.

I did not let the pups go to the barn with me as the wind made it too cold.
My cheeks were so red.
At 11:15 I went down to Agape, picked up some groceries at Wegmans,
then went to a meeting at the Rec Center.
When I got back to the farm I did a little reading in front of the fire and started on dinner.
My Mom used to make this dish and I can't even remember what she called it.
Perfect comfort food.
First I sauteed an onion with sliced Polish sausage.
In the meantime, I warmed up some sauerkraut with a little celery salt and drained it.
(You may season the sauerkraut to your taste...vinegar/brown sugar, nothing...
whatever tastes good to you.  Just not too much).
While all that was going on I heated up 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup with some milk
(I did not fill up the soup cans with the milk...maybe half...use your judgement)
and a couple dabs of sour cream.
I combined the sausage, onions and sauerkraut....
 drained some pasta
 added the mixture from above
topped with the soup mixture...mixed it all up,
put it in a glass container and topped it with some little squares of Swiss cheese.
Put it in the oven at 350 for about half an hour covered....and
voila!

Served it with a carrot/apple/craisin/walnut salad and some peas.
 Delish!
My crew is down for the count and I am going to join them.
Have to finish my book.

Night all.

  1. Dinner looks tasty! I hear we had flurries at the farm with about 5 degrees temp. I’m in Florida so glad I missed it😊
