Beautiful this morning and we ended up with above average temperatures.
I was showered and out of the house by 9:45 as 2 things were going on at the market and
I needed to be at both of them.
First, there was a joint press conference being held for the Democratic candidates from
Sweden and Clarkson. When I arrived, they were setting up.
All kinds of supporters were there from both towns, sporting their t-shirts.
Working together added great strength and energy, drawing a lot of attention.
The head of the Monroe County Democrats (Jaime Romeo) arranged for this event and came
out to introduce the candidates.
Meanwhile, we started playing and continued until 12:20.
Of course, at 11 I had to excuse myself to go over to the press conference.
Everything always happens on the same day.
Several members of the jam group opted to continue playing at the gallery as three
were not able to make the Market gig.
I must say that this was one of our best sessions.
It was very relaxing and we played so many new and different songs.
Lori has brought so much to this group...with her voice, guitar and musical selections.
This song, "Arlington," was one we had never heard.
Tom is an absolute pro and has been working on this song.
"Across the Great Divide"
We have decided that when people ask us what kind of music we play, it will
be called Eclectic Americana. So true. We play a great variety of genres.
This is Tom's wife Nancy. Jim R. (our mandolin/fiddle player) brought in this song.
Our chorus used to sing it. "The Skye Boat Song."
We also played Danny's Song, In the Garden, To Make Me Feel Your Love,
Wild Horses, Different Drum, You Don't Know Me and many more. A real mix.
Love days like this!
I did not get home until 3:30 and Gary had taken on a late afternoon shift at the Welcome Center.
As it was in the low 80s Little Wonder, Phoebe and Sidney were in a nap taking mood.
I finished the Netflix series I was watching (The Five) and really enjoyed it.
Dinner was the leftover pot roast Judy sent home with us and I made a
carrot/apple/craisin/walnut salad topped with fresh lemon juice and a little mayo.
Easy and so good. Thanks Jude!
While I was gone today, Gordon came up with his lawn tractor and put a real
nice finish on the outdoor arena.
He also rototilled all the veggie gardens and I can't wait to put grass seed on most of them.
Chore duty tonight.
Gary worked on the flower gardens until it was almost dark.
We are having an event here next Sunday and are trying to get things in shape.
Night all.
PS
You know how much I love Farm to Table Dinners.
Here are some photos taken last night by my friend Alicia Fink.
We could not attend and it looked like an elegant event!
It was held at Kirby's Farm as a fundraiser for a foundation that
is giving support to our public school and students.
Gorgeous presentation.
The dinner was set up in a hoop house!
Simple and done with such class.
No photos of the main course, but I'll bet it was pretty amazing.
Thanks Alicia. Love your photos.
As you have seen, the little communities in this area know how to do things right!

Skye Boat, that gave me goose bumps, beautiful singers, and the melody tune harmonics so beautiful. I could listen to that every day.All in your garden looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how busy you are all the time! Looks like a great day. Wonderful music too.
