Get Ready For The 2017 Medina Farm To Table Dinner....

I was checking my email a few minutes ago and noticed a post from
Chris Busch, (President of the Orleans Renaissance Group, Inc.), announcing the second annual Farm to Table Dinner to be held in historic downtown Medina.  As part of the annual activities of the Canal Village Farmers' Market, it will be located on Main Street, August 3rd.

Gary and I attended last year and it was quite an experience! Zambistro pulled off the food and service without a hitch.  Of course it was out of this world!
Needless to say, I was there with my camera and forwarded my photos to the
Canal Village Farmers' Market which linked up to my Journal.
I had a gazillion hits!
As a matter of fact, my post was noticed by two bloggers in Washington DC who contacted me about my Journal.  Alix Gilman and Scott Robinson have since moved back to Medina (their home town), we have met and they have been to the farm for dinner.  They have a very popular blog called "In A DC Minute" and it's all about food and drinks (among other things).  They will be getting married in August...
I hope they will be able to meet us for dinner on the 3rd!

Here are some of the photos from 2016.

Last year there were 100 of us.
This year, 200!

What a beautiful setting....and the weather was perfect.

Here is the press release sent out by Mr. Busch!

Dinner is on in Medina!
2017 Farm to Table to take place in August on Historic Main Street

MEDINA, NY- Preparations are in full swing for Medina’s second annual Farm to Table Dinner.
The event is hosted by the Orleans Renaissance Group, Inc., as part of the annual activities of the Canal Village Farmers’ Market, a Medina enterprise also sponsored by ORG. “It's hard to believe that nearly a year has past since our first Farm-to-Table Dinner in Historic Downtown Medina.” said Chris Busch, President of the Orleans Renaissance Group, Inc. “The event generated ‘Medina buzz’ from Rochester to Buffalo for weeks.”

Medina’s event delivers not only a sensational meal in a historic and memorable setting, but also a chance to see and learn firsthand how farmers and local chefs capitalize on Orleans County's number one industry: agriculture. Medina is literally surrounded by fields and orchards brimming with agricultural bounty at this time of the year.

This year’s dinner event will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 6:00PM, with a rain date of Thursday, August 10. Due to the incredible demand for tickets- the event is expanding from 100 to 200 seats and the table will stretch nearly the entire length of North Main Street.

This year’s event will a few changes. In addition to a two-hundred seat table, arriving guests will be treated to a complimentary glass of champagne, courtesy of Medina's newest downtown sensation- Fitzgibbons Public House. Their full bar will also be open for cocktails. The dinner again will deliver a sensational locally-sourced meal, again in the middle of Medina's Downtown Historic District. The meal itself will be a full five-course dinner, prepared by renown Medina chef, Michael Zambito of Zambistro.

The 2017 dinner will see Chef Zambito joined by Chef Lionel Rosario of Mariachi De Oro- Medina's wildly popular Mexican restaurant. Mariachi De Oro has received rave reviews from area metro publications and attracts patrons from across WNY. “Last year’s event was amazing and we are working to surpass expectations in every way,” said Cindy Robinson, chairman of the Medina Business Association. “The total experience last year was indescribable,” said Robinson.
“We are going to have another epic dinner event.”

Among the many guests last year was Lori Skoog of Brockport, NY. She authors the “Skoog Farm Journal” blog. “Loved it.” said Skoog. “Perfect in every way. We were surrounded by gorgeous architecture. Every single course was off the charts.”

Each course prepared by Zambito and Rosario will feature pairings from Niagara Wine Trail wineries, 810 Meadworks of Medina and RG Brewery of Brockport, NY. All ingredients will be locally sourced and farm-fresh, provided almost entirely from the vendors at Canal Village Farmers’ Market, Medina.

An official live music event “after-party” will be hosted by Brian and Larissa Degraw at 810 Meadworks on West Center Street in Medina.

“We are thrilled to be able to present this exceptional culinary event yet again,” said Busch. “But it’s something we could not do without our generous, community-minded sponsors.” Corporate sponsors of the 2017 Farm to Table Dinner include Zambistro with chef Mike Zambito; PridePak Inc. with Mr. Steve Carr, CEO; and Takeform with Mr. William Hungerford, President.”
Pride Pak is the newest member of Medina’s corporate community. The company operates a new state-of-the-art 64,000 square foot, fresh vegetable processing facility on NYS Rte. 31A.
“We are immensely grateful for Pride Pak’s continuing commitment, not only to Medina but to this great community event. They were our first sponsor in 2016.” said Chris Busch, ORG President. “Without CEO Steve Carr and Pride Pak, this event would’ve gotten off the ground last year.”
New to the sponsorship team this year is Takeform. Also located on Rte. 31A, they are designers and manufacturers of architectural signage & graphics for interior & exterior environments. “Bill Hungerford and Takeform are well known for their dedication to our community and we’re grateful for their support.” “And, of course, chef Zambito,” said Busch “Mike has the magic that makes it all come alive like no one else could.” “Absent chef Zambito, Pride Pak and Takeform, there would not be a dinner. We simply couldn’t do it. The level of community cooperation in Medina is unsurpassed and these sponsors are prime examples.
Everyone works together to make great things happen in Medina.”

Patrons of the Canal Village Farmers’ Market will have an opportunity to win two dinner tickets. Through July 29, every $5 spent at the market earns a chance in a drawing for the tickets. The market runs every Saturday morning at 127 West Center Street in Medina’s downtown.
