A cool down today. The girls had to tough it out at 50 degrees.
After chores I started putting the bamboo in a wheelbarrow so it would be already for
Gary to move to the brush pile. He was working at Sara's for a few hours.
I had to run some errands and stopped at Jenny's to drop off a couple things and let the dogs out. Her driveway is shaping up.
I can't even tell you what I did this afternoon....Oh yes, now I remember!
Time Warner (Spectrum) offered us an upgrade for our tv/phone/computer service and it was only going to cost us $1.99 more than what we are currently paying. So I went for it and had to pick up a cable box today. Of course it needed to be installed and I am no rocket scientist so I had to consult with Roger, the supreme technician. All those cables drive me nuts! We have the tv, apple tv and now a cable box. I had to disconnect the DVD player and put it with a different tv because there were no ports left. Yikes! Got all that done, called a technician and they finished what was left (the volume was not working right). We are in big trouble now, as Gary is an obsessive channel surfer and I can't be in the same room when he is doing that. It's going to take awhile to learn how to use the new universal remote!
When this contract is up, we will be ready for rabbit ears.
I made the dogs peas and carrots for dinner and fed them early as we were invited out to dinner by our friend Judy.
I also started working on getting things ready for tomorrow night as it's our turn to host
Ron, Ann, Brenda and Al .
Judy drove up to the farm and then Gary drove us to Caledonia.
This gorgeous stone house is across from the Village Inn.
Amazing architecture!
Our reservations were for 6 and we got there right on time.
This is the first time we were out to dinner without Sally (who now lives in Florida).
Judy ordered her favorite drink....
and Gary had a glass of wine.
We started off with fresh baked bread....
and a toast to Sally.
It's not the same without her!
All three of us ordered the garden salad.
Gary ordered the special....beef tenderloin tips with mushrooms cooked in a wine sauce...surrounded by mashed potatoes and a side of fresh green beans.
Judy ordered a NY strip steak with mushroom cabernet onions, blue cheese mousse, maderia demi-glace, pan smashed red bliss potatoes and side of grilled vegetables.
I ordered Chicken Saltimbocca. Pan seared chicken, prosciutto, provolone, maderia veloute sauce, classic risotto with grilled veggies.
Look at those veggies!
The three of us split chocolate layer cake for dessert.
It was not your ordinary chocolate cake!!!!!
Thank you Judy! What a treat.
A gorgeous sunset on the way home.
Night all!
I live near a Caledonia too! The food looks super 😋 yummy. And that sunset is all of the colours!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great dinner! Beautiful house too. Love the architecture.
ReplyDeleteRadio Shack sells a port splitter to add extra ports to the TV. We had to use one and it works great.
ReplyDeleteYou guys must feel good running around in the cool air. Have a fun day

I had to comment on both the lovely house you took a picture of and the dinner. That dinner looked scrumptious. Our daffodils bloomed weeks ago and have long gone by, and the tulips are well past their prime.
