Frigid!
Phoebe went back in the house and Little Wonder insisted that he was going to the barn with me.
He lasted for about an hour and was ready to say "uncle." Fortunately, 90% of the time we were inside. My camera quit working....maybe it was frozen (not really, needed a new battery).
Between shoveling, feeding and cleaning stalls I did not get back inside until it was almost 10:30.
Normally it only takes 1 hour...today, 3.
I changed my battery and took the pups out for a potty break.
We went as far as the front paddock
turned around and
were ready to find some warm air.
Yay! The sun eventually came out
and I was able to drive down to the village were I met my friend Cheryl for lunch at Java.
She brought me this bracelet that was made by her cousin, who is a Native American (Mohawk) and lives in Northern New York. What a treat, to have such a meaningful piece.
I was very hungry for their chicken salad and it met all my expectations.
The wind started kicking up shortly after I left,
and open spaces turned into whiteouts.
The schools closed early and my meeting for tonight was cancelled, but we still had to go
back to the Village for visiting hours at Fowler Funeral Home.
How the sunset was visible for a few minutes I will never know.
There were wind gusts between 40 and 50 miles per hour today and now the temperature with the windchill is below 0.
We made it home by 5:30 and I was very happy that I picked up a pizza at Wegmans today.
Night all.
The dogs look adorable. It's way too cold to be doing anything outside. Hope it warms up soon. Cold here too with wind chill below 0 and we should get snow tonight. Stay warm.
