Mud City

Great!  It was raining when I went out to the barn.
I had all the hay set up under the shed roof and they preferred being out in the paddock.
Apparently Berlin and Angel were inspired to roll in the muckiest spot in the entire area.
They did not care if it was raining....or not.

At 9:45 I was down at Jenny's with Cooper and it was just sprinkling.
By 3:15, Maggie and Angel were under the shed roof (nice and dry) while Berlin and Abbe were out getting drenched.  Maggie just loves to intimidate them.
I gave up and put them in early.

Ben arrived around 4:30 to reset the shoes on Karen's horses so Abbe and Berlin went back outside for a couple of hours as it had finally quit raining.

No cooking tonight.
Sauteed some onions and threw them on a Wegman's cheese pizza.
Exactly what I wanted.
Naturally, the sun made an appearance just before dark.

Night all.

PS
We were in the 60s today and by the weekend we are going back to winter.

Just Gorgeous!

Could not ask for more.
Too bad it is not going to last....we are headed for the 20s this weekend, just when things are starting to bloom.

There was a lot of activity out back today.  They are digging the basement for the new house.
We started off in the 40s, but headed toward the low 60s.
 Off came the girl's blankets.

Today I was in charge of the boys part of the day.
I challenged Coop to keep up with me at Agape.
Me:  20 minutes/elliptical, 20 minutes/treadmill, 20 minutes/bike.
Coop:  15 minutes/elliptical, 25 minutes treadmill, 10 minutes/bike.
He is one tough cookie.
Finn had baseball practice from 10-noon and his other team will practice from 5-7.
He will be pooped.
I treated them to lunch at the Millhouse.  This is how they posed for me....
Gary got to their house at 2 and thought they were not home so he called to see if they were still with me.  Ha!  They were upstairs in their room reading!
I had to go home to take a shower, as I had a 3pm meeting at the Village Hall.
But first, I checked the activity out back.

 How's that for a driveway?
The girls were loving the weather.

We were long overdue for a salad/dinner.
Mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, roasted red peppers, hard boiled eggs, asparagus, baked chicken and caramelized onions topped with grated extra sharp cheddar cheese.
SO GOOD!!!!!
Night all.

Dreamers Among Us...

Yes!  Sunshine this morning.

 Cold and windy.

Class at 10:30.  Deborah was on vacation and joined us today.  She has not lost her touch!

LuAnne is going to be inventing something new.  Fabric (neckties) on canvas.
This is just her sample...can't wait to see a large canvas.
After lunch I attempted to do some reading and you guessed it.
Turned into a nap.

By late afternoon, the sun was warming the west side of the house.
I just can't resist taking pictures when it looks like this.

Very interesting, the way Gucci and Phoebe look for the sun spots.

Crazy, the way Phoebe sleeps with her legs straight out.
We went out for a short walk and checked on the girls.
They were munching and very happy.

 Dinner was simple.
An apple/carrot/craisin/peanut salad...
 and leftover sloppy Joes.
At 6:30 we went down to the library for a very special program.
"Dreamers Among Us" is a documentary created by a group of high school students
and it is about undocumented immigrants.  One of the girls who worked on this is now a student
at SUNY Brockport working toward a law degree in immigration.
Here she is in the video.
So bright and articulate.
It really made us stop and think about what is going on in New York state as well as the nation.
Imagine what it would be like if you were brought here as a child, when you had no choice in the matter, and as you graduated from High School you were shut out of most opportunities because you were not documented.  5 states have passed the Dream Act and there is hope for it passing here.  So much to learn about this situation.

We left around 8pm at the sky was gorgeous.

Night all.
