The Tundra

For the past couple of days we have been making up for all that mild weather we've had for the past 8 weeks.
We had to shovel for the first time...record breaking.
It was very cold, but the morning started out with no wind...for a change.

Lots and lots of extra hay.

The sun peeked out off and on starting at 8am....

Class at 10:30.
Gucci and Phoebe could not wait for Tina to give them a treat when she arrived.
Only two people today.
Tina...
and Shamra.

At 1pm we attended a memorial service for a friend's daughter that was extremely moving and made everyone think about about life and relationships.
On our way home the wind was crazy.
I always wonder how the girls feel when it gets like this.

Phoebe and Gucci were not too excited about being outside for long
as they were getting blown all over the place.

I sat by the fire and read until my lids got heavy.
At 7pm I was in Brockport at a Town Board workshop.
The process is very interesting and we are learning more and more each week.
Time for a break.
Night all.

  1. We warmed up above zero today and Morris and I enjoyed the late day 'warmth'. He ran his little legs off enjoying being out of the house!
We are all ready for rest now and a bit of reading.

  2. Your students are very talented artists. Cold here too but no snow until this weekend when we might be getting a blizzard or something similarly unpleasant. Nice to have a good fire.

  4. Thank goodness for the pups that Tina was one of the two that arrived for class! LOL. How do you cope with such cold conditions? I also suffered when we had high summer heat two weeks ago here in South Africa, but it was by far better than being cold. Lori, been meaning to ask you: do you still read the traditional printed books or do you read by Kindle now? Just wondered... Wrap up warmly! Jo

  5. We also just received our first snow of the season. Wood stoves are going and all is warm. My dogs don't like it outside at these temps, either!
