The weather sure hit the fan last night.
This morning there was standing water and more MUD.
Another day when I am so grateful to have that 60 foot shed roof.
Maggie toughed it out in the rain and Angel was hiding by the back door to the barn loft.
When we finished chores, Karen and I went down to Apple Creek Farm to grab what could be the last of the apples. We should only be in the 20s tomorrow and that could finish them off.
It was pouring and we were picking off the ground, so we didn't last very long.
When we got back to the farm we decided to put the girls in their stalls.
Maggie is ok with stall rest if the rest of the horses are in too.
We had a fire going all day...very conducive to reading and mellowness.
I spent part of the time playing my baritone ukulele, and it is going much better.
My song book is growing and I'm able to play several songs up to speed.
Still have to get better with this one.
Around 4 they were turned back out while Karen and I cleaned stalls and
reset them for the night feeding.
Another simple supper.
The salad was topped with Greek olives and feta cheese....so good.
I heated up the leftover Swedish meatballs, added peas and tossed them with pasta.
What a no brainer.
I sure spend a lot of time here.
Night all.
I love your header. It really shows what real beauty is!

The wet weather is depressing. We're still pretty warm but the fog and drizzle get annoying after a week straight.
ReplyDeleteLove your header picture!
Is Maggie your gray then? What are the others call? Your header picture is lovely!
ReplyDeleteA perfect way to spend and end a rainy day! We saw sun here very briefly, giving us a spring feel. I wonder where winter is?
ReplyDeletePS: LOVE your header photo!
I hesitate to tell you we had 30Celsius today!!!Too hot to be outside.
ReplyDeleteCompliments of the season to you, Lori. What hectic weather you've had and here we are in South Africa sweltering in drought and heat. Greetings Jo
ReplyDeleteWe've had so much rain in the last few days that it's just crazy. Headed down in temps here too. Yesterday morning was 67!
ReplyDeleteIt's 47 here in the morning and we're freezing
ReplyDeleteSnorts,
Lily & Edward
Great photos.!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us.!
It was so good to hear from you. And I do see the meatballs, at least. Good thing you don't have to eat the cod soaked in lye! That's probably the worst Swedish Christmas tradition. All the best for the new year.
ReplyDeleteOh, I do love your new header picture...two beautiful ladies! Oh, the weather!! We must be on the same parallel or whatever that line of measurement across the country is because we had rain every single day (and lots of it) every single day of December, until Christmas day! When the skies opened up and we had sunshine. Glorious sunshine! What a gift! And then we had some more rain, followed by a little snow, then snow/rain mix and today more rain...grey and wet is getting very old
